AREA COUNTY AUDITORS ELECTED TO DISTRICT OFFICES
Ashtabula County Auditor David Thomas was installed as Secretary/Treasurer of the Northeast District of the County Auditors’ Association of Ohio (CAAO) for 2020 at their annual Winter Conference. Also installed were President Medina County Auditor Michael Kovack and Vice President Carroll County Auditor Lynn Fairclough. The Honorable William Reineke, State Representative installed Mr. Thomas during a ceremony on Thursday, November 21st at the Renaissance Westerville Hotel.
The District works closely with the CAAO Columbus office to monitor legislative proposals that impact local taxpayers and to offer initiatives that assist County Auditors in carrying out their duties. During 2020 we anticipate much activity with ongoing examination of government reform measures, major changes in a variety of taxation issues, and addressing the general condition of the state’s economy.
The CAAO includes all 88 Ohio County Auditors and Fiscal Officers. Now entering into its 154th year, it was established to promote and protect the interests of the taxpayers of Ohio and to improve the administration of county government.
